MALAWI

Our work in MALAWI

In 2019 Life Support started working in Migowi, Malawi. The first project was to build a children’s house for four siblings that had been orphaned and were living in a neighbours kitchen. Working with the team in Migowi a new mother was found to come and care for these children. In 2021 Life Support funded the building of a second home for a further five siblings that had also been orphaned and made homeless. All the children are in school and are cared for by the house mothers and the Life Support team on the ground in Malawi. In response to the need to provide clean drinking water in the villages around Migowi, Life Support has been working with a funding partner in the UK to provide boreholes to the most desperate villages. In 2021 13 new boreholes were dug. This provision means that the villages no longer have to walk long distances to fetch water and no longer have to contend with the danger of falling sick due to drinking contaminated water. Life Support plan to keep building boreholes with funding from our UK partner.

MALAWI PROJECTS

With our partners in Malawi, Life Support have built two children’s homes a community centre and boreholes to provide clean water. Life Support plans to grow the children’s village in the coming years and to pursue income generating projects in the area.
